Loving Louisville!

Absolutely inspired by our recent trip to Louisville – good things going on by the river! Downtown highlights include the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (great Eero Saarinen exhibit), Urban Bourbon Trail and of course the Slugger Museum. We love the 21c Museum Hotel in downtown – formerly a bourbon brewery (of course!) this gorgeous 90-room boutique affair now houses a world class museum and an award winning restaurant…and the signature 21C penguins!

Art highlights – Pierre Gonard’s large scale- amazing way to be greeted!;  ‘Lost Suppers’ an exhibition of still and moving images around the concept of the meal with a supercool video installation by Katja Loher; Monica Mahoney’s Pipmobile – we want to drive it!

Now planning to visit the other 21C locations in Cincinnati and Bentonville – the latter is across the road from and a frequent collaborator with Alice Walton’s  Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art www.crystalbridges.org - AND we hear the penguins are a different color….and we will be heading back to Louisville when the newly renovated Speed Museum opens again in 2015!
