The Redesigned Stanley Building, Kings Cross

Seven Pancras Square has an unrivalled location at the gateway to Kings Cross. Built in 1864 to provide accommodation for Kings Cross workers, there were originally 5 blocks housing 104 families. The remaining building fell into disuse in the 1970s. Now the building has been redesigned by James Wells Architects into a flexible office space, featuring a new build wrap constructed around the original. Blackened steel stairs link and visually join the old and new construction with an LED 'light fountain' at the center of the stairwell providing the central source of light and visual focus. As with all the office buildings at King’s Cross, the very latest technology will reduce running costs for the occupiers and minimize environmental impact.
